Get to know Gigi
Welcome. My name is Gigi Valster, an interior designer with a passion for creating spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and personal.
My love for interiors started early. From a young age I worked with my mother on styling and decoration at home: winter accessories in winter, lighter settings in summer. We moved house several times and always took care of the interiors together, and often helped friends and family as well. Over time this passion and hobby became my work. My mother, who is of Italian origin, has undoubtedly passed on her love of design to me...

Who am I? An interior designer with Italian roots
My name is Gigi Valster, interior designer and founder of GV Concepts. From my design studio, I am personally involved in every project and act as the direct point of contact throughout the entire process. My Italian family background strongly influences my way of working: collaboration, attention to detail and, above all, creating spaces in which people truly feel at home.
I work with a dedicated, close-knit team, largely made up of family members. This ensures clear communication, consistency and a high level of commitment. Clients often experience this as reassuring: no constantly changing faces, but a familiar and trusted team from start to finish.
I personally supervise each project from the initial design through to renovation, furnishing and final styling. By working with one coherent plan and a single point of contact, the process remains clear and efficient, allowing clients to enjoy their new interior with complete peace of mind.
My approach as an interior designer
Working with me as an interior designer begins with a personal meeting in a relaxed setting, where we discuss your wishes, lifestyle and expectations. I then visit the property to gain a clear understanding of the space, the type of house, the natural light and its surroundings. Mood boards help us define the desired atmosphere and visual direction.
After this initial phase, the design is developed in detail together with my team. The completed concept is presented in the GV Concepts design studio and includes a carefully considered colour palette, material samples and a detailed mood board. Following the presentation, you are given time to reflect on the design at your own pace. The design fee generally includes one round of revisions, allowing for minor refinements after the presentation.
Following final approval of the design, we move into the preparation phase for realisation. At this stage, we begin sourcing quotations from our trusted suppliers and contractors. These quotations cover all aspects of the project, including renovation works, furniture, and wall and window treatments. All invoicing is handled entirely by our studio. Once approvals are in place and the required deposits have been received, orders are placed. As many elements are custom-made, a lead time of approximately 12 to 14 weeks is taken into account to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated implementation.
Throughout the renovation, I act as the central point of contact, combining the roles of interior designer and project manager. Clients are relieved of as many concerns as possible and kept informed through regular progress updates. As completion approaches, my team and I curate the accessories and develop a detailed styling plan, which you can review and approve before any final purchases are made.
Upon completion, my team oversees the logistics, installation and final styling of the interior, often working closely with my family. All accessories are placed with care and, if desired, the property is professionally cleaned. At handover, we walk through the entire project together, using a checklist to record any remaining points of attention. Dedicated aftercare ensures that every detail is finalised, allowing the project to be delivered exactly as intended.
A style that lasts
My style as an interior designer can best be described as classic-modern: calm, timeless and unaffected by passing trends. I favour light colour palettes, organic shapes and antique accents that add character without overpowering the space. Special attention is also given to family heirlooms, allowing personal stories and memories to be seamlessly integrated into the interior.
Every design is unique and tailored to both the residents and the property. The common thread lies not in a fixed formula, but in atmosphere, balance and enduring quality.
Complete peace of mind, down to the last detail
What sets my approach apart is the exceptional level of peace of mind I offer. I do not simply deliver an empty or partially furnished house, but oversee the entire furnishing and styling process, from furniture and lighting to accessories and window coverings.
For clients who wish, the service can be extended even further. This may include unpacking boxes, putting away crockery and cutlery, and organising wardrobes. Many clients choose to spend an extended period abroad during the renovation and return to a completely transformed home, where everything is already in place. For them, this represents the ultimate level of comfort and reassurance.
Who I work for
My work appeals to those who take their interior seriously, yet prefer to place the entire process in trusted hands. Whether the focus is on making the most of the available space, making thoughtful design decisions, achieving a balance between functionality and atmosphere, or simply saving valuable time, I ensure that every detail is carefully managed and all concerns are taken away.
Are you looking for an interior designer who will guide you through the entire process from start to finish, allowing you to enjoy a home that truly suits you? I would be delighted to meet you and explore whether we are the right fit.
