This guest house in Maasdijk serves as a guest stay, outdoor kitchen, mancave and bar all in one. The five metre high ceilings and full height windows create a spacious feeling despite the relatively compact footprint. The two large façades can be fully opened through a folding system, making the space ideal during summer. The entire space is heated and cooled by a heat pump, while the wood burning fireplace adds extra warmth and atmosphere during winter. The large bespoke bar was one of the client’s key wishes and includes three refrigerators, a wine climate cabinet, a large cooktop, a ninety centimetre oven, a dishwasher and ample storage space. It is the perfect setting for cooking for larger groups or hosting parties. The building has an L shaped layout and enjoys sunlight throughout the entire day, keeping the interior bright at all times. Everything was painted in a beige tone to create a calm and balanced atmosphere. A personal favourite within this project is the Prado lighting, which is also used in the sanitary spaces to integrate the mechanical installations, a unique feature of this brand.
