The home of this gentleman was truly a bachelor’s house with an oversized corner sofa and red leather dining chairs. What immediately stood out was that everything was positioned with your back to the garden, even though the garden is a true estate with beautifully landscaped trees and greenery. Exactly what you would want to look at. Changing the layout was therefore essential. The new organically shaped sofa is ideal for such a large, angular room; it breaks the space and makes it feel more playful. Together with the addition of a low-dining section attached to the sofa, the corner can now be used for multiple occasions. The new fireplace, also designed with a curve, adds warmth to the space. The large grey floor tiles, which felt cold and uninviting, were covered with béton ciré, and along with the plastered tables, this creates a calmer and more airy appearance.
