This family home already had a lot of character. Still the owners felt the interior did not come together. They had pieces from previous homes heirlooms and items they had purchased themselves including a sofa and coffee tables. They wanted a cohesive whole with these elements included. I immediately loved the heirlooms which included large classical paintings with family history. These pieces add personality. In the basement we created a spacious bar with a custom DJ booth with integrated power. The front room is a classic London tea room with an old stove and a bay window. This was the perfect setting for the more classical line of BB Italia especially Maxalto which is one of my favourite Italian labels and both elegant and timeless.
Gigi did a fantastic job furnishing our house and garden in London. He is professional, detail oriented and has a can-do attitude. He incorporated our preferences and our existing furniture well into his design. We loved that he really took ownership of the project and timelines. Frankly, also by managing us to make swift decisions and by proposing a full set of fabrics/colors etc. as part of his proposal presentation - limiting the amount of choices we would have to make (which can be endless!). As a result, we now have a beautifully furnished home that is stylish, warm and our own. It has a beautiful flow without looking too polished.
Two things that really stood out for us were the level of customization and the full service in terms of delivery and placement. Having custom furniture and furnishings ensures that everything fits perfectly in our living space. It would have been impossible to achieve ourselves and we were most impressed by his ability to deliver a fully finished project in London from his base in the Netherlands. It is so nice to come home to a completely new interior rather than having to deal with various furniture deliveries, unpacking and placing it all yourself. Last but not least, Gigi and his team all have very pleasant personalities, which makes a big difference too.
Furniture, the environment, the accessories, the people. In a design concept, everything comes together as one whole. Sometimes using existing designs feels out of place. In that case, custom products are designed with GV Custom. For a final result where absolutely everything is perfect.
